With the help of the Lord, We were blessed to form the Guardian Angel Adoption Program after Hurricane Katrina on October 5, 2005 and during the aftermath of Katrina has formulated and worked with others to make this program a success on the Gulf Coast. Minister Harris, Jr. still calls the program a work in progress with many families to assist who are still in need during the long term recovery period after the hurricane. The program has assisted over 550 (+) families and has fed over 3,000 people since the hurricanes untimely arrival. This program will continue to grow as resources and more needs are identified and verified. The Guardian Angel Adoption program has functioned during the past (7) years to help ALL people situated here on the coast through Hurricanes Sandy & Isaac respectively and even assisted during The BP Oil Spill which devastated many families and impacted them… even unto today. There are so many fallen comrades here on the Gulf-Coast that we feel compelled to assist in any way possible. This desire and ministry is what seems to be propelling the Guardian Angel Adoption Program. Please feel free to donate to this humanitarian effort and know that your donation and assistance will be utilized “directly” to the people who need it most!
Share a testimony of prayer.
After much, much earnest prayer, the devastation and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina has caused an evolution that has spawned into a true humanitarian effort that is called, "The Guardian Angel Adoption Program", a direct community life-line to assist those people who need immediate help during the Katrina Aftermath in an ongoing benevolent fashion. James D. Harris, Jr. is the author of the program and began developing it during the Hurricane Aftermath after noticing the great gulf of needs that were not being met in the community where the church edifice resides. After working with the Red Cross personally, Minister Harris, Jr. saw a need that was waiting to be met through immediate and positive action to link others outside the area of devastation to those who were directly inside the eye of the devastation. The Guardian Angel Adoption Program is a family-to-family endeavor that pairs families who have been devastated by Hurricane Katrina to get assistance from other families across the nation to collectively meet the needs of the "adopted" family in need.
Our prayer calls are for 1 hour on Thursdays and Fridays at 7pm EST. You may call in or listen online. Detailed information will always be posted. Do you plan on attending the call? Will you spread the word?
