So it's New Years, now what?

Roman 12:2-And be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. AKJV

     There's a familiar saying, "continuing to do the same things over and over but, expecting different results is insanity"! 

Today, I challenge the people of God to do an "INVENTORY" of their mental, physical and spiritual status. In this scripture we are asked not to conform.

What is conform?

conform (v.)

mid-14c., confourmen, from Old French conformer "conform (to), agree (to), make or be similar, be agreeable" (13c.), from Latin conformare "to fashion, to form, to shape; educate; modify," from com- "together" (see com-) + formare "to form" 

transform (v.)

mid-14c., from O.Fr. transformer, from L. transformare "change the shape or form of," from trans- "across" (see trans-) + formare "to form" 

renew (v.)

late 14c., from re- "again" + M.E. newen "resume, revive, renew" (see new); formed on analogy of L. renovare. Related: Renewed; renewing.

Here we are in 2013 A NEW YEAR:

1. What have we made an agreement with, that fashioned and modified us from a worldly perspective?

2. Can we change the constructs with an "honest" self-inventory that will allow us to even consider change?

3. How do we REVIVE/RENEW our minds? Re-new-to make new again, re- again; we had it before and can have it again!

So many of us year after year make resolutions we never keep, even though we had all of the best intentions in honoring that idea. Unfortunately, there comes a price to pay for so-called failing to honor the resolution. Many of us feel we fell short somehow because we didn't keep our word. Then there are those that know we made such an agreement and didn't keep to it, and they bring it up. The reminder leads us into feeling of guilt, shame etc..which may cause us to withdraw or avoid others for fear of being viewed as week or a liar. Somehow, we find ourselves going into the rest of the year in doubt of SELF!

Well this year I say: Jeremiah 18: 1The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, 2Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause you to hear my words. 3Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he worked a work on the wheels. 4And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

2013-"Let's Make It Again New"

My beloved people of God, we are made in the image of the Creator and have the power to call forth those things that be not as tough they are-Rom. 4:17b.

John 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, You are gods?

Zechariah 12:8 In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them.

     My beloved, let us NOT limit ourselves to the Worldly concepts/constructs of a New Years Resolution! Instead, let us lock arms in unity and strength, resolve to ask God to assist and intervene on behalf of his children more so than individual self gratifying requests. Metaphysically, as we digress the people will feel that vibration and began to awaken on a more spiritual and conscious level.

     Instead of resolving to "lose weight"--resolve to "gain a relationship with a lost soul'

     Instead of resolving to "seek for a job"--resolve to "do what is within your power to do for someone else"

     Instead of resolving to "ask for a financial blessing"--resolve to micro-manage what we have and share the extras with someone less fortunate.

"Look how far you have fallen from your first love! Turn back to me again and work as you did at first." —Revelation 2:5
